well it looks like at least a 2 week trip for me. Heck its 6 days on the interstate. Like i said I would like to do more than one event, if I'm going to drive west. OCBR comes to mind. So if I left on a friday, drove for three days. ready to wheel on a monday. Do monday, tue, and wed in Moab. Then beat it to OCBR. Do that event. Head home on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Beg for my job back on Wednesday. A solid two weeks off of work. Now I know it's going to be hard for anyone to do back to back events because of the time of. So It kinda leaves me unguided for Moab. But it is what I am thinking about.

I'll add a little to this discussion because it hasn't been mentioned yet. The town of Moab itself is pretty darn cool. It's hard to tell from maps because, like you said, it just looks like a tiny little town. But there are plenty of eating places, hotels and VRBO listings. It's like a little off-roading mecca in the middle of nowhere. And if your wife isn't into the 4x4 piece, there are some of the most scenic hiking trails in the country right on the edge of town at Arches Natl. Park. It's worth a 3 day drive, at least once in a lifetime.

My wife would go back in a heart beat! We love the little town, great places to eat, scenic views. She wasn't fond of the heights either, but the views make up for it.

And there are some beautiful trails without the hi vistas. If you can talk Pam into coming it is a destination unlike anywhere else on earth And truely is an international destination there are people there from all over the world. If she will make the trip I can promise she'll have great time.

Agree. It is a place unlike anywhere else with spectacular views you have to see to believe. The slickrock allows you to do trails you wouldn't dare to do anywhere else. My wife got out and walked on several of the technical sections and couldn't bear to watch some of the stuff we cleared and I wouldn't consider myself an expert by any means. Just need to scout the climbs and use a spotter.
I say take Ben up on his offer - you won't regret it.

I have more questions than answers.
Moab is just fantastic. If she is into it tell her you can show her dinosaur tracks at the start of poison spider/ golden crack run.
Desert big horns by arches.
Indian writings in the needles district, look up newspaper rock. Keep going to elephant hill and take the road in to the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers. Just a short hike from your rig.
Take her up the Manti-LaSalle loop.
Of course all the other runs.
If any of the above doesn't work I'm sure there is something there you can use to help get her to go.
It's been awhile since I've been able to go. We hunt an area in UT that has the same strata just can't get off road like Moab. The scenery can't be beat.

One year over New Years we met some people from Florida they spent 2 days running trails with us. Happens all the time. As mentioned you can run more trails in a day when no organized runs are going on.

Have fun.
