Post pics please if you have them.
Having to deal with that "dash removal dilemma"

Just to get behind the dash, you need to remove it. To remove it, you need to pull steering column, fold down windshield, remove front cage. If not modular then remove full cage, remove hardtop or soft top.. Yada, yada, yada...
You know what I mean..

Spilt dash, two piece dash, Three piece dash, raised dash.. Let's see them.

Thanks Mars, The front cage tubes drops down in front of the ends of the dash so a tilt forward option is a no-go.

I'm leaning toward splitting the dash in 2 pieces at the steering column opening, that way I could out 70% of the dash without removing the steering column.

Anymore pics anyone got to post?

Why do you have to take the column out? Mine didn't have the 3 speed shifter, but doesn't the handle come off with a pin? My dash came out over the column, just took the wheel off.

I did ultimately take my column out to fix the steering shaft, and it was a PITA to put back in. :-X

You can get it off even with the shifter handle in place. Takes some twisting and turning but it can be done! I've done it wth the stock C4 shifter in place and the 3 speed has more movement than the auto.

Same here. I just pull the steering wheel and slide the dash over the column.

I'm a fan of hinged dash panels. I did that to just part of mine, but a person could do the whole face of the dash. Takes just a couple seconds to access the wires smoking behind the dash then.

I wish I had done this on my crawler resto but didn't. What a PITA to get back to those wires later when you need to.

None of those dashes have the front cage tubes in the way. I understand that the dash can be removed over the steering column with the steering wheel off but try that with a front cage in also...

Keep the ideas coming.

I see said the blind man. Good to know, I need a cage. Seeing this now I wish I had done mods to my dash, I'd like to have handy access to change wiring setups, I even left myself extra hot and ground connectors back there.

Now this is something that I really like....
A few subtle changes to my existing stuff and I could do this!

One question thou. Where's the parking brake?
Do you have more pics of this rig that you could post?

I cut the bridge under the dash at the steering column opening, tabbed it, and made it removable, so no need to remove steering wheel or column. I wish I had pics, but I am not near the bronco.

In the pic above, the cut is in line with the bling aluminum cover and goes through the two column bracket access holes. Can barely see the modification, unless you are under the dash.

I like this cage placement as well. I would like to see photos of the e-brake and where the cage ties into the floor.
Thanks.

It currently doesn't have an e-brake. The cage comes down right where the e-brake goes into the floor. The tub is fiberglass and flexed real bad with the old e-brake so I eliminated the stock one. I am planning on using an older Toyota type of e-brake that pulls by hand to set it and twist to release. Since the body is fiberglass the dash didn't fit or mount too well so I welded 4 tabs to bolt the dash to the cage. I don't have the cage tied into the frame yet. I'm going to take out the body lift and build the rock skis to tie into the cage. Let me know if you want more pictures and what you specifically want to see. I'll be out of town till Tuesday though. Build thread of the cage
