If you do not want to go new you can use the shoulder, lap combo from a mid 70's to early 80's Chey pick-up. They bolt flat to the floor and the top you can bolt to the roll bar. I just bought a set and it cost me $15.00 at the wrecking yard. I had to do a bit of looking for the color I wanted (black, what else) and I made sure they were not frayed.

They work great.

I go to the race car swap meets and flea markets . You can pick up a used set of 5 point harnesses for 50 bucks . The rules for racing prohibit the use of harnesses that are more than ? years old and they have a date of manufacture on them . If you know somebody that drag races or whatever , ask them what they do with their old ones .

I have a set of 4-points coming (some day) that I got new off of e-bay. I paid something like $75(?) +shipping. The delivery is taking forever. My next door neighbor drag races, and he has an out-of-date set up for one seat in his garage. I didn't want to wait for his current unit to go out of date to get 2 seats worth, and I wanted black (his are blue -- wouldn't match my interior).

SFI is the safety end of NHRA drag racing ,supposedly independant . They ask for re-certification on belts in pro classes on a yearly basis , so most send them back to the manufacturer and have them rewebbed using the old hardware .I guess when you are running 300+ MPH that makes sense.
