Ran out and snapped a couple pics.. I'm running the newest HD version. Was shipped with a 1/4" bracket that I broke. I "let" Mike send me a new 3/8" bracket that so far has survived. After this thread I'm think about bridging and gusseting them though. I'm running an NP435 / 205 and 5:13s.

Mine is like this also only about a 1/4 " from the drive shaft.I called and asked if it could have been welded in the wrong place and asked for a measurement from the frame rail. Duffs never would give me a measurement only saying that it is made in a jig and could not be welded on in the wrong place . I am still building my bronco and have not fixed it yet .

This is true, we have a fixture that makes it impossible to change where the mounting point for the shackle is. That doesn't mean we wouldn't or shouldn't give you a measurement if you really want to compare. We have a display chassis close by for that exact reason. Do you remember who you spoke too? How recently did you ask?

What drivetrain are you running?

We actually designed the torque tamer to be as close to the drive line as possible. This means if your running any drivetrain other than stock you may have an issue with the install.

Thanks for the feed back Deepwoods!! :)

Thanks for posting pics Andy, that should help DEEPWOODS with his measurements too ;D

Also remember when you first welded on the 1/4" thick axle bracket (not shown in pic) it looked like it wasn't 100% welded. That's another important point to make regarding how much stress these brackets absorb when getting used to their full potential. Gotta weld up those brackets nice and hot and 100%!!

I've bent 5/8" grade 8 bolts in mine that was similar to this design. They do take a lot of stress at the axle end of the arm. They were in double sheer.

Yes and this brings up a great point. We are selling our Anti wrap bar for Broncos running a stock drivetrain setup and stock style suspension. Once you start adding doublers, deep gears, huge tires and twice the hp/tq it's time to start considering a 4 link.

Yep, at that time... 350 ft lbs of torque 351w, 4:1 doubler and 40's is a lot of stress on things. I was about 80:1 final drive.

Thanks for the pics! I take it you mean the bracket on the axle end broke? Did it tear off the housing?

I got a few parts coming and will work on this in the next few weeks. Will update with results after the next outing.
Thanks to Michael Duff for sending me a new beefier bracket. You can't ask for better support of product when you have used it for 10 years and even modified it from it's original state.

Just realized that I didn't update this thread. I determined that to remove the old bracket and replace with the heavier bracket would be better done by removing and disassembling the rear axle assembly. I decided against that last fall. So, I straightened the bracket, replaced the heim and replaced all the bushings with new bushings. I removed the crossmember and moved the mounting point 1.5 inches farther to the drivers side. It's only been out for 1 day of wheeling since then and worked fine. If it bends again I'll bite the bullet and change out that bracket.
