Theres always critics about MSD boxes whenever someone mentions them in any forum. What you're saying is the Nitrous guys are wasting there time with MSD boxes unless theyre turning there motors past 6 grand? Pretty sure the MSD box provides a hotter spark at any RPM. I run one in my Mustang, and I see improved starting, especially cold start, and i also pull a little better gas mileage. 2 things that i dont mind having them on the street and in my Bronco.

I never said they were a waste of time or that they made the engine run worse. They make it run better, but how much better is debateable. I've run MSD's in all sorts of cars and really didn't notice much of a difference in street performance vs. the Duraspark. My biggest complaint about the 6A boxes is if you fry one out in BFE you are SOL. Every autoparts store carries the Duraspark 2 module so you could be on your way for about $30 vs. the $120 and a few days shipping time for the 6A.

One thing to note on the MSD boxes is the multi-spark is more efficient at lower RPM because there is enough time to fire multi times therefore making it have quicker response and burning all the fuel. But after 3k it only has enough time to fire once. Im guessin thats a good thing for our Broncos. :)

So..what did you decide on? Now that I've driven my 77 with the MSD off-road and Pro-billet dizzy I can definitely say they made a huge difference.

3 of my rigs still are running there original boxes so i say you have other issues. Heck, my trail rig lost the box, found it a few days later laying down against the header and the truck never stopped. I reattached it and it is still going. Pretty sure the bolts had rusted off long ago but it was wedged under the MC. It is really a good system.
As far as MSD, I run the 6AL for the rev limit in my cars, but the 6A is the same without the rev limit.

U r right there is NOTHING wrong with a Duraspark. Cheap and dependable. I just have two MSD Off-Road Modules sitting on my shelf...one thing leads to another....I like it though...very much.

The stock duraspark setup is great, but I love my 6al box and the blaster 2 coil. The revlimiter has saved my motor more then once, like when i'm coming out of a bowl at the dunes and i don't get off the throttle quick enough. Iv'e noticed that the motor isn't so sensitive to fuel mixture.

I have the MSD 6 offroad and love it. I run the box with an MSD offroad coil and Duraspark distribuiter. No problems, my 302 runs great and has no trouble starting when it is cold. On a side note I also replaced the vehicle wiring harness and installed an Edlbrock Performer carb at the same time.
