My Dad called me up on Tuesday-
"I bought you a Bronco"!
We are off to pick it up tomorrow. I've been thinking of this thing 24-7 since I got off the phone with him. I tried asking him the condition(?), year(?), model(?), tire size(?), cut(?), uncut(?), auto(?), 3-speed(?)...... All I got was-
"It looks just like all the other one's you haul home"
He's having too much fun with this- He knows I'm a fruitcake for these things!

So this is all new to me! I own a Bronco (Dad bought for me), that I know nothing about! Normally you see a ad, a picture, a price. I've got nothing but a mental picture of that once-in-a-lifetime rust-free barn find we all dream of......... It's nice to dream! Can't wait!

I'll post pictures when I get it home!

I did get out of him last night that it was RED (Favorite color for a Bronco- My original Bronco color- he bought that one too), and it has Pwr. Steering...... He also said I was way too excited over a rusty Bronco.

What A Day- Yes, I have a cool Dad!

I just pulled in the driveway....w/pictures!

First we dropped off his Larson "Falls Flyer" (it's a double cockpit 50's era outboard Boat- his hobby) to get a custom fit cut water installed.... then my day got brighter!

We pull up to a house with a bright red Bronco stuck atop a snow pile-
"That's where it Stopped"
We used a little atv winch, and a come-along to bust it off the pile and onto the trailer.

Not a rust free barn find, but very cool! I love it!(Maybe not enough to keep it.... for those who know how I work :D)

Not sure what to do with it..... other than enjoy putzin' with it daily.... my dad said it was mine to do whatever I want to do with it. He already asked what I think I could sell it for... Like Father - Like Son!

It's a basic '73/302/3-speed. 2.5" lift, newer 33x12.50's on 10" wheels. Hurst floor shifter. Door posts and tailgate have been patched. It needs a rocker rear fender flares, and a good wash!

Nice find!
I keep hoping one of these days you stumble upon my old 73, I am sure its in some back yard somewhere in Wisconsin. I can't think of a better derelict Bronco hunter than you!

You are correct there.... John is the King!.....;D

I'm afraid most of the EB's I see around in the south-central WI area are complete basket cases hidden away, but it's crazy how they pop up from time-to-time.

A '74 I picked up a couple years ago was spotted by my boy 1/2 mile from my in-laws' place. It had been parked under a big tree since '87.

Nice find!

Well.... my Dad's name is John too!

He's the one who spotted this one... knocked on the door..... and knew enough that the asking price was worth the new tires alone.... why he could afford to give it to me. I built him a little website that he sold a boat or two off of, so this was his way of saying thank you.

So.... I got it off the trailer today... and then my kids woke up from their naps, so no chance yet to comb over what we've got yet.
