No personal property tax on vehicles in South Dakota, I guess that's one reason some folks "move" here. I actually got my bill for license plates today just shy of $700 for the collection, the class A motor home was about half and the rest covered a 09' Ford Flex, 05' F150, 92' Explorer, two early Bronco's, and a 20' car trailer. I need to get historic plates for the Bronco's and the Explorer those are $25 and good for lifetime.

Wow. I was looking at property in NC, but I think I'd rather stay in GA where I pay ~$25 per year for ea. of my 12 vehicles .

My county Mecklenburg in NC did a revalue a few years back, Where we had to send a form with information and picture of the car featuring then license plate. I sent in the form saying it was unrestored and just an old truck with a picture of the tailgate with giant rust spot. It was revalued at $500 now it has gone up to $800, but a couple local guys have had to send a form challenging the value and they were able to get their valves dropped.

Missouri here. Paying sales tax and personal property taxes.
What has happened lately is that with people not buying new cars as often which has raised prices are used vehicles they have made an adjustment to value your old cars at a higher price. Complete BS to pay taxes on property you already paid taxes for and keep doing it annually!

do it. my 68 ranger f100 was claimed to be valued at 27k. go to dmv and get antique tags and county will assess it a 500 dollars. the lady in the tax office told me . My brother did it to his stuff and he rides if you get my drift.
