Need a longer EFI C4 kickdown cable

I got the throttle cable installed OK but I can't find a kickdown cable that is long enough.
Wildhorses sent me their EFI cable but it is only long enough for a driver side rear facing application.
I need a passenger side front facing.
The standard cable housing is about 42", but I need one at least 18" longer.
Or....am I just missing something?

I guess I'm going to be running in to the same problem as you. I have EFI setup like yours and ordered a C4 kickdown cable from Wildhorses that I haven't gotten around to installing yet. Let us know what you get figured out on this.

I ordered one at it seems to be long enough but can't remember who I ordered it from. I will check when I get home tonight.

Did you get this figured out? Wildhorses has one that is specifically for EFI. I have it and just installed it last night. It was the perfect length.

I brought it up over the transmission and right next to the passenger side valve cover and looped back around in front of the oil fill tube.

Could you post a pic?
I tried the same one you used but couldn't seem to make it work.
The housing on the one I got was approx. 42"

I’ve never used a kick down cable since I put in my EFI 5.0, 5 years ago. My C4 reacts pretty well on the highway, off-road I tend to shift it manually most of the time. I use a floor mounted Winters shifter.

Maybe I will try it without a kickdown for a while.
I never had one on my crawler either, (Art Carr/Winters shifter),
my current project is a street cruiser,

What does the kickdown even do if you guys have been running without them? I thought I needed it so I just put one in. I used mine like a manual the first and only time I have driven with a C4 because I didn't have the vacuum modulator hooked up so I don't know what it feels like to use a kickdown cable or not.

Kick down linkage down shifts from 3-2, or 2-1 by way of the throttle position. As long as the governor allows it to. You can do it manually though.

When you manually down shift the automatic you grab the lever and down shift easing off the gas as you go. Automatic
Kick down is a power demand where you floor the throttle and the down shift rod overides the automatic operation and forces the tranny to down shift and it increases the hydraulic pressure to operate the gear change. Then the tranny up shifts on its own when the governor in the tranny forces the upshift. The upshift point is much higher and harsher than a normal automatic upshift. In a stock Bronco it is very handy if your going on an onramp up hill or trying to pass a skate board in the slow lane.
