Guys-

I'm having a difficult time valuing my '66 Roadster project for a possible sell (haven't decided yet). Anyways, I've been asked a few times what I want for it...and I'm not too sure how to answer it.

If you can help, reply to this thread, PM me, or e-mail me (dave.ragan@gmail.com).

Thanks,

Dave

Here is some additional info:

Model Year: 1966
VIN: U13FL750658
Data Plate Info: Engine code F
Body code 796
Model code U130
Trans code C
Rear Axle code 03
Color code B
DSO code 54

Build Month September
Mileage: 88,909
Comments: This Roadster was parked back in 1990 because the shifter broke. Since I purchased it back in 2006, I'm still in the disassembly/cleaning phase. Interior is gutted, steering column removed, dash removed, roll bar removed, new front floor pans installed, and I'm now in the process of cleaning the underside of the tub. Engine/tranny still in the bay...engine spins freely and I tried to start it initially after purchase and it turned over fine, but just could never catch...probably carb issues. There is practically no rust on it, uncut, and I have a few of misc. parts (including soft top/doors, fiberglass inserts with metal backing, half a mirror :), front bumper, bulkhead, oily air filter thing, and a few new suspension/body mount parts). The tires still have tubes in them.

When my dad was thinking about selling his 69, I had it appraised and he was surprised at what the report said.
It was appraised at 12,000. All original, and uncut.
When he passed away, I inherited it.
Unfornately, Iv got to sell it so that gives me a window to price it.

Unfortunately in its current state of dissasembly it is worth very little compared to a fully operational 66 roadster. If you have all the bits and pieces to put it back together, I would say you have a $2,500.00 to $3,500.00 pile of parts. If you are missing items then you have less than that. If you can finish it, get a decent paint job on it, then you have a $10,000.0 to $20,000.00 piece depending on the quality of the restoration.

Just my opinion.

That stinks. I would have a hard time parting with something like that, especially if it was passed father to son.

I agree. I know several folks who have sold off nice but disassembled trucks and they are very very tough to get much money for. If you can clean everything up and get it running, you'll probably double or triple the value. I guess it all depends on how much you value your time is worth. For something you're going to hold onto, then I'd agrue your time is free (its a hobby thing) if your just going to sell it, then suddenly your labor has a much bigger value on it.

My 2 cents.

If you do a frame off restoration it should bring $30,000 at Barrett Jackson.

Ventura County,
To give you an idea of what it looks like, one pic I have is my avatar.
In fact, I believe, somewhere in his stuff in the garage, there is a complete shop manual for it.
Im getting some more so I can set up a site to sell it.
Im not thrilled about selling it, but there are several reasons I cant really keep it.
Ill let you know when I get them posted.

I agree with cgbexec, a good friend of mine just paid $3500 for one, it looks to be in about the same condition running and all togather except missing the mirror.
