Ok so I’m putting explorer efi in my 66. I’m looking for suggestions on either fabbing up a enclosure to house and protect my ecu or can someone tell me the actual name of the box that most everyone uses from like a 03 escape or explorer? Because I can’t seem to find one when doing a search online. I have the seal from the explorer that mounts to the outside of the firewall but I’m looking for info for the enclosure that will be on inside. I’m going to mount box right behind upper intake in the firewall. Any help is appreciated. I have attached a pic showing where I plan on mounting my ecu.

Don't know the actual name. But I pulled mine from a 2002 escape. Very easy to remove. I have post pictures of my in stall in my build thread. Link to thread below in my signature line.

Yeah that’s my problem. I don’t have any salvage yards close to me So I either need to fab one up or find one online to order. So that’s why I need the actual name of it. Every time I search all I get are replacement ecm’s.

98 Windstar van, not easy to remove, but works well in a Bronco. As mentioned above, I have heard the Escapes work too.

That looks pretty easy to build. Is it basically just a tray that ecm sits in? Doesn’t look enclosed to me in the pics.

Yes it is a tray the ECM fits into, the outer plate seals the unit. Explorer has a box because it would be exposed to the elements in the front cowl area.

Thanks for the help guys. I decided to just fab something up. It’s not the prettiest work I’ve ever done but it’ll do to hold a computer. Eyes aren’t what they once were🙄
