I purchased the kit yesterday. My only problem is going to be having to paint everything either black or grey. I already have a cage front end (grey). I'll take pics of the install and try do a write up on it.

let me know if I can help you out at all. Running the same set up. Maybe we can compare notes/suggestions/opinions.......good luck!.........Crab

Duff's 4 link

This Is from the meb roundup this summer Im pretty sure its the duff 4 link, but i might be wrong. Here it is anyway.

That photo is indeed a shot of Brian Broberg's rig on the RTI at the Gore, Va round up. He did very well on the ramp as well as the rock challenge. I have some good pics of it flexin on the ramp, but I can't get them up on this forum yet. I could maybe send them through e-mail if anyone wanted to see them. The best one I could show is a shot from the back that gives you a good look at it at work. ;D ;D

That is a great price for what you get, if you compare to the best you can do with leafs. Leaf springs $350-400, shocks $100 or more, long travel shock mounts $100-200, leaf spring shims $25, antiwrap bar $150-300. That's $750-1000 and still doesn't perform like a 4-link.

Hey Suzy, look through the pics on the cd I just sent you, there is a rear shot of Brians rig on the RTI @ Gore, Va. It shows the set up pretty good. Post it here since I can't.

Hey Crab that thing looks awesome...How far back do you think you could have moved the rear end before hitting the gas tank? I just purchased my kit yesterday and would like to extend my wheelbase some? Also how hard was kit to install? Frank

So does the system T for 2500, include the front radius arms, coils, shocks, shock hoop? what else? If you move the rear axle back will the truss hit the rear cross member when stuffed? I'd love this kit if you can move it back without having to move/modify the cross member of the frame. Is there any way to run this kit with only 3.5" coils? Or would the truss hit for sure? I have a 2" body lift and really don't know about the 5.5" suspension. My rear end is really light right now, with only a 16 gal fuel cell, tool box and cage...

I'd like more pics too if anyone has some.

Is the blue bronco pictured stretched at all? Thanks for the help!!!!

I moved the rear axle back as far as possible w/o cuttion out the cross member which is only about an inch, but I'll take it. Being one of the first kits, we had no instructions and looked like a weekend job. Well, there was a bit of grinding (besides removing the factory brackets) to get things to fit the way I wanted. Ended up taking two of us about 20hrs, however that includes a fair amount of B.S.ing and fluid consumption.
Kinda hurt hacking out my recetly installed WH extreme travel shock mount and last years $450 exhaust.
Oh yea.......good luck on your exhaust. I ended up taking one of my 40 series offset flowmasters and making it into a Dual in Dual out (2 1/2") and just running one muffler.
I shoot some more pics when the weather clears.....

Hey Suzy,
How about shipping a kit to Hawaii?............... Better yet, take a vacation and bring it along with you.....

After seeing PP's and IB's kit, I'm now leaning towards JD's kit..

Will the JD kit work on a full width rear axle?

Aloha,
Honorio

decisions decisions

So lately the wife and I have been watching some hardcore po...er, off roading videos. Tough truck, etc etc.

so she starts asking me questions like, "how hard would it be to build the Bronco or S-10 like that"
basically, I tell her, "it's a no brainer...keep the S-10 on the street, since the Bronco is just a better platform to start with. add full width axles, EFI, a bunch of HD body/chassis protection, and a suspension that articulates like crazy"
she's really warming to the idea, and so a reasonably priced 4 link kit may be in Uglys future. sweeet;D

on a different note...what happened to JamesDuff.com? I liked the look of the new site better, but now it's back to the same ol' same ol'. what's up with that??:?

Sorry guys I wanted Brett & Bryan to help me with the responses and they've been a little busy... Here goes:

Cut Up 75: System T for 2500 include the front radius arms, coils, shocks, shock hoop? what else?
Its everything in the Monster Kit minus the leafs, u-bolts, shock mounts and shocks replaced by the 4 link kit.

Is there any way to run this kit with only 3.5" coils? Or would the truss hit for sure? I have a 2" body lift and really don't know about the 5.5" suspension. My rear end is really light right now, with only a 16 gal fuel cell, tool box and cage...Is the blue bronco pictured stretched at all?
Yes, you can mount the coil towers higher up to lower it to match the 3.5" coils up front. That is how Bryan's is right now and is stretched ONLY 2" in the front. We need to clarify that the ride height is adjusted by the installation of the coil towers. And the kit can be used for anywhere between 3.5-5.5" We are working on another set of coils for additional weight capacity.

onebadd73 How far back do you think you could have moved the rear end before hitting the gas tank? I just purchased my kit yesterday and would like to extend my wheelbase some?
Unfortunately it can only be moved back about an inch (like Crab did) without moving the crossmember. The crossmember is going to be the issue first. Also, what gas tank you are running as well.

Honorio Will the JD kit work on a full width rear axle?
Yes, it was actually designed on Bryan's full width but production for standard 9". (The center piece and gussets will need to be ground a little to work on full width.)

ugly74 As far as the website goes, the new one is still up (we added links to the ecommerce site on the old site) but it wasn't QUITE ready to go live. We are still madly adding things to the shopping cart! We also didn't want to lose all the info and customer's rigs that is on the old site. So we are running both sites for a while.

jeff Is this the pic you were asking about?

Keep the questions & comments coming! Let us know if we missed anything ;D

Suzy, Brett & Bryan
