I FINALLY got around to making a new bumper.

Tried to keep it simple, functional, and clean. Bumper doubles as an air tank. My original plan was to build in some corner protection, but I didn't like how it turned out, so I left it off for now.

Raised to compensate for 2 inch body lift.

And now that I have my Trailmax II Rear Seat installed, I also made a receiver hitch tire carrier so I can haul my kids and a spare!

Only problem, is that it blocks my license plate.

No problemo... By the plan in my head, I was supposed to be able to slide it with one finger...it's actually a bit of a wrestling match to get it to move. I might try revisit that issue at a later date.

If I need to open the tailgate.

Nice job. I've thought of doing the same with my spare. How hard is it to pick back up, for an old guy. One more thing, welding the ends for an air tank is very dangerous. If you rhink about it, every pressure tank has rounded ends, air tanks, propane tanks, aerosol spray cans. Please check into this, don't take my word.
