Reverse is worse when I let off the clutch.. Any suggestions on how to tighten it up or is that just part of owning a bronco?

A very important step in refreshing a worn clutch is to resurface the flywheel before installing a new clutch and pressure plate. Did you check the pilot bearing?

Have been down this same path having replaced several, new clutches to resolve chatter. My solution included a dual friction clutch disc with special dampening springs, and addressing axle wrap. If you focus on each component's roll as the clutch engages, you can begin to visualize what is necessary to produce chatter, thus correcting faults. As I've mentioned before, get a copy of,

Study it like a bible, then take any other advise here with a grain of salt..........

kent wash.
First bronco I ever had chatter because of a worn out piliot bearing which took out the imputs shaft bearing, which cause it to want to pop out of gear when coasting. Other things lose tran mounts, broken motor mounts.

i got it too. brand new flywheel, luk clutch kit, brand new motor mounts and trans mounts so check most of that stuff off the list. oh and tranny is rebuilt also with all new bearings for whoever is going to say tranny issues. all new u-joints including the cv joint as well. was not that bad when i first put it together but after a few thousand miles it's back. i had it with my original powertrain but thought it was due to the bad rear main seal leaking oil and wetting down the clutch but i have a new style one piece rear main seal and i have zero leaks any where that i can see. so go figure. it's got me a bit pissed off also. it's not half as bad as it was with the original powertrain so i can deal with it for the most part but things like this drive me nuts. i feel your pain.

I had a new clutch installed with the new motor

I will call and ask if the clutch was resurfaced and ask about the other. Thanks

There was a post not too long ago about a guy that had the same problem. He ended up resurfacing his new flywheel and it fixed the problem. Might be something to think about.

as stated , check motor mounts , trans mounts , and rear leaf bushings. make sure rear leafs are not toast........that is what I narrowed mine to. new clutch, press, and flywheel cured 90% but still a small shimmee. leafs look like an S.

oh yeah brand new urethane mounts also. i mean don't get me wrong it is livable but sometimes annoying also. i can make it do or i can just throttling up a bit higher and ride the clutch out a bit. but if i just ease out the clutch while idling at a traffic light on a slight hill it will shake the sh-t out of the truck.

You said new clutch installed with new motor. I'll bet the engine block got new paint. Maybe the bell housing too. The mating surfaces of the engine and bell housing are machined surfaces and need to be clean bare metal, or it may throw the input shaft of the transmission out of alignment with the crank. The alignment is checked with magnetic base and dial indicator, but the transmission and clutch have to be remove. It is called clocking the bell housing do an INTERNET search and you will find plenty of information. It may not be your only problem but it cured my clutch chatter that I could not get rid of even with brand new flywheel and pilot bearing.
