Sorry yo keep going back to the flywheel.. I was responding to the 1st poster .. But in your situation Marty when you did put in a new flywheel did you clear the surface of your new flywheel. Viper or AZBronco might could answer why better than I but I have seen brand new rotors and flywheels need to be turned .. Most from being installed with that film surface on them.

There was a post not too long ago about a guy that had the same problem. He ended up resurfacing his new flywheel and it fixed the problem. Might be something to think about.

yup, that was me. Brand new out of the box flywheel. When I took it back out, i would say maybe a third of the surface, you could see where it was making contact and getting the hot spots, the other 2 thirds, still all the machine marks on it. seems to me there is a bad batch of flywheels circulatiing across the U.S.A. !! The dude at the machine shop thought it was an old one for as bad as it was warped. NAPA would not replace it. Got it surfaced and works fine. All except that I am having another issue in another post i havent fixed yet. !!!!!!!

axle wrap!

I had the same problem and determined it was axle wrap, not clutch chatter. A few of the venders sale fixes for axle wrap. I notices the difference immediately. I can take off quick and spin the tires and before the whole truck would shake all the way through intersections. I will see if i have a picture of what I did to fix mine.

i am curious to see if this is the same issue. mine is more evident in reverse but i still can get it to do it in forward. interested in what you did to fix. was it a store bought part or something you made.

This was posted on 5/29 regarding the same issue:

{Body mounts are shot}
That has to be it - when there's any force on the clutch linkage, it lifts the body. The torque of the clutch engaging or releasing causes the pedal's action to be exaggerated, which results in the lurching & bouncing. New body mounts (or even shims for now) or hydraulic clutch linkage will solve the problem.

I can't take credit for the post but thought it was a well-explained response. Unfortunately, the original post-er did not follow up with what actually fixed his ride.

Sorry for duplicate info - your thread is growing up fast

Turn flywheel after installing flywheel wash off greasily hand prints with brake cleaner. If you think it's rear leafs being shot get some exhaust clamps and clamp the fronts of your leaf springs together. If you can feel it pretty positive letting the clutch out real slow probably flywheel problem
