New lift ordered!! need some shock help

here's the new set up.
BC bronco 4.5 lift coils and 9 pack leaf springs. 2" body lift. Toms bronco ultimate shock hoop in front (similar to everyone elses long travel) and WH shock jock in back. 35 tires. Weight wise, I'm ordering protofab plate winch and tire carier bumpers and have a Bailie bilt family cage already.

i'm going single shock per corner and am set on Bilstein 5165s in the front and 5125s in the back. Anyone running this or similar?

mostly street driven with weekend moderate trails, and lots of higher speed gravel roads.

wild horse gave me shock lengths of:
F - col 16" ext 27"
R- col 17" ext 29"

does that seem backwards or wrong? Duff's website says their similar setup of longtravel hoops and rears offers 15" of travel if i remember correctly.

What valving combinations would you recommend? I'd prefer to err on the side of soft. replacing an add a leaf and sagging progrssive coils so looking forward to a much better ride.

Hate to delay you but I'd wait to get the lift on the truck and check it loaded and empty. I installed a 3. Lift and the shocks sold did not fit empty weight, not long enough. Every truck is different based on what you have in the truck.

I've been searching and reading up for a few hours now and with valving it seems that most like 360/80 up front and 255/70 in the back.

Anyone have an idea of what travel shock to go with for the tall shock hoops in front and shock jock in the back on a 4.5 lift?

it does seem backwards

lee from raceshocks quoted me on front 27 5/8 ext by 16 1/8 col.
rear 25 3/4ext 16 1/8collasped

I have toms broncos with 3 1/2 lift with the shock hoops in the front.

but I ended ordering something a little different. I went with dual rancho rs9000xl at each wheel . found a deal on ebay for 4 of them so ordered 4 more as a set, and rancho has a deal of buy 3 get 1 free.

We've had good luck with a single Bilstein 5125 at each corner Valved at 298/94 for the fronts and 255/70 in the rear. It's a combination that is soft enough for wheeling, and firm enough for daily driving. As stated earlier, I would also recommend getting everything installed first, and taking the measurements for the shocks afterwards. This will ensure that you get the proper length shocks and take any guesswork out of the mix.

so i have the 4.5" lift all installed and it's been sitting for a few days to kind of settle in and it is dead level. I mocked up the shock mounts and in the front I'm looking at 23" from mount to mount and in the rear it's roughly 24" so not much difference. Is there a good rule of thumb for ratio of droop to compression? any input on how to measure the shocks i need to purchase. i read somewhere 2:1 ratio of droop to compression based off resting measurement, is that correct?

2" body -12" travel FOA is my recommendation. Not sure why the big hubub about blisters brand shocks

In case you haven't already found it, I came across this Billstein catalog when I was looking for shocks for my Excursion. About half way down, there is a table that shows the 5100 and 5160 collapsed and extended lengths. There may be something similar for the 5125 and 5165 on the Billstein US website.
