I think it's finally time to do a "Hi I'm the new guy" post considering that I do own a EB now so here it goes.

Some of you might now me a little bit from the drama in the for sale section. Now that it's all cleared up, I actually own a 1974 Bronco, purchased through Sicaz66. I have to say, in the end, he was a man of his word and put together a Bronco for me in replace of the nightmare that I first got. You also might now a little bit about the EB I have because it too was another members on here originally. I wont say who, but I will tell you that it was a infamous EB rolling around San Diego with no rear floor board for awhile.

So, now I have a 1974, unknown original package, with a rebuilt 302, D-44 up front and BB-9" in the rear, in the process of installing a C-4 auto. It's currently red white and blue.... and grey primer and rust..... but that should change in the near future to pretty much all grey primer until we get the paint taken care of. Along with the Bronco i got springs and leafs for a WH 3 1/2" lift, a Kayline soft top and all kinds of P.O. little fires that I have to put out but thats all good. If I wanted something that was perfect I would of bought one of big money ones all set up.

As far as my Logon name, JeepGuy, well thats just gonna have to stay. I've owned a 1974 Cj-5 for the past 13 years and dont ever plan on selling it. I bought it pretty much stock, rolled it, and then spent 8 years building it into a mild monster that hasn't let me down yet.

So thats pretty much it for now, just wanted to get the offical new guy intro in before I have too many posts. I look forward to learning as much as possible on here from you guys and sharing what I already know. Besides, if you ever decide to buy a real 4x4, that of course being a JEEP (hahahahah, you know I had to throw that in), then we can really talk. Until then, cya on the message boards.

Alright, welcome, since you are here to stay, time to get that contributor status and post up some pics. One thing you gotta learn is a thread is so much better with pics. Congrats on the pick up.

Jeepster has been here for years and at first got some crap because of his NIC, but it all passes. As long as someone contributes to our obsession and is cool about it...I don't care what your NIC is.

WELCOME.

Well I've made a little progress on the EB since I bought it. Swapped out the 3 spd. for a C-4 dana 20 combo, put on the dual exhaust, I have the soft top about 3/4 of the way installed (used the wrong measurements the first time so now I have to redrill about 10 holes), I've done some sanding and priming on the rear panels and hope to get the rest done soon. I still have the 3 1/2" lift to put on and then comes the tires and wheels.

I have the interior to put in and just ordered a new tunnel cover with the middle support so hopefully thats in within the next couple of weeks.

Here it is so far with a couple pics of all the goodies that came with it. The bumpers might be for sale in a couple of weeks, still thinking about that one....

Finally got motivated again and made a little progress today. I took off the old fenders, wasn't too hard. I think there was only about 4 bolts holding them on, cough, cough. The P/O must have simply forgot to bolt them all the way on;D . Anyways, I have new bolt kits on the way. The passenger side inner fender well was covered with surface rust. That took 1 beer and about 20 minutes worth of sanding. Here's a little Bronco porn for ya'all..

Well what can I say... All the talk lately about getting the projects ready for upcoming events finally motivated me enough to set work aside and get something done on the Bronco.

Today I got the front end put together with the new bolt kits. I never realized how many bolts hold the fenders on. After that, I made a temporary retainer clip for the trans modulator/regulator and I actually DROVE the thing for about 5 feet;D ;D ;D ;D ;D .

The Power brakes are working now and it seems I just need to finish priming the tranny to get it to shift smooth into drive and reverse, then hook up the shifter. As it is right now, I'm just reaching down and moving the lever (dont have the tunnel cover in yet). Right now i have to slowly rev. up the motor and then it jumps.

Heres my "new to me" fenders installed and a pic of a extra set I have if decide to go big on the tires. The Wifely likes the stock look for now.

modulator.....

Hey did you have to make a bracket for the tranny modulator? Ijust did the c-4 conversion and when I started my bronco with fresh tranny fluid it spewed a/t fluid out of the modulator port after blasting out the modulator?!? Sorry to hijack your thread just saw that you had made a bracket..... Oh yeah, Welcome aboard!!!-Scott

Yeah I just made a temporary one on of some not too tough angle iron. I had the same thing happen to me with the modulator so dont feel bad. There is a thread in the tech section on that one with a pic of what the retainer clip should look like factory. Heres the thread. http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97045

Thanks!!!

Thanks a million.....You are the man!!! I was freaking out wondering if I bought a POS. tranny!! Did yours spit out a metal piston looking deal? with the modulator? If so wich way do you reinstall it? It looks to be ported and have what looks like a screwdriver slot on one end. Thanks again for the aid- Scott

Hey I drove it around the block a couple times today. Everything works good. I just jimmy rigged a retainer clip for now and I have a real one on the way.

Today was pretty productive. I hooked up the shifter; don't have to reach down and touch the tranny anymore. Put the gage cluster in; the temp and oil work, I don't think I have all the wires connected for the Amps. I still don't have the speedo cable hooked into the transfer case. Swapped hoods, and started cleaning up the wiring under the dash and then drove it.

I have 31's on it with stock suspension and they rubbed pretty good when turning it hard:-[ . Best part of it all was when the wife jumped in and tried to drive it, she said "we aren't taking this anywhere until it has power steering!" How do you like them apples?????????????????

The transfer case was stuck in 4 low at first and I wondered why I was rapping the engine out at about 25 mph:cry: . Once I got it going in 2 high, it moved pretty nice:) .

The front suspension seems to be very soft, too soft:cry: , so it looks like I'll be putting the 3 1/2" WH lift on sooner than I had planned. I already have the coils and springs, just need the bushings and front brake lines.

So all in all, it was a very good day. Now I can actually say I have a drivable BRONCO;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
