Looky here....

Light/older blue coil is
The Duff first generation progressive rate coil.

Dark/newer blue coil is
The Duff latest generation progressive rate coil.

These are both 3.5" coils.

The newer one has more tight coils at the top and is a bit longer.

They ride fantastic.
They are sitting a little high right now. I assume they will settle.

Just thought you all might want to see the evolution of the eb's oldest vendor's coil springs.

I like linear rate coils too, but these latest generation Duff coils are pretty Damn amazing.

I have always been a fan of James Duff. Been running their lifts on several Ranger Based Vehicles. A bronco II with the TTB, a bronco II with a SAS, a 93 Explorer sitting in my driveway and now hopefully very soon my early bronco.

It is interesting the difference on the coils over the years.

Thanks for the post!

Unsure but someone will chime in with an answer.

My first generation Duff coils are 24+ years old.

I'm kind of interested when the division was also as I have a set of 2" springs from 1997-98 era and I am going to change my C-bushings from 4 degrees to 7 degrees this winter and I may upgrade while I have it apart.

I'd have to dig back in my catalogs to figure it out exactly (or at least more closely) but I'd guess mid 90s.

Vintage Broncos was the first EB vendor with decent riding variable rate lift coils in the early 90s (thinking 90-91). The others picked up that theme in the next several years following that.
