The rumor here in the Detroit metro area is that it IS going to happen. Workers at the "Michigan truck" plant ( building focus there currently) have been told so. Built along with a new Ranger pick up. I have been told that by line workers and Persons of power types in different conversations.

Will believe it when I see it.

On my test drive of the proto-type it handled great! But when I woke up I had that nagging feeling again, like the commercial on tv....if you are experiencing a problem after 3 hours...Call the Doctor

LOL!!
This is truly a "when I see it on the show room floor I will believe it!"

It has been beat to death, on this sight and on line, and right now ford does not even have a platform in the USA they could build it off of. If they do bring the Ranger back to the states then there is at least a platform for it. But it would be years of development and most likely only similar in name to our classic broncos. Don't expect a hard core wheeler off the show room floor!

Chances are that even if they do build it they will neuter it to ford escape status with a bronco badge.

That's the most assuring answer I've read so far. Ford actually told the line workers it was going to happen? Why would they let it out (if it was going to happen) so early if production couldn't even start until 2019?

Not sure, I work at a dealership and I ran into a guy from the plant. He was the one that told me. He was wearing plant gear overalls with plant logo, we talked about trucks (saw my bronco) and proceeded to tell me that ranger and bronco (he said 4 door) were coming to the plant. Like I said still a rumor till I see one.

I read that it was barganing power in the upcoming union labor talks but who knows maybe they gave into that to not have to give into something else.

But yeah gonna probably be a 30 or 40k plus rig if not 50k

Wranglers are $30K+ and sell just fine, so I don't see why a bronco would need to be less. Hopefully if it does happen, it has a solid front axle. The Eco boost engine would be cool to see in it.

If Ford does ever produce another rig w/ the Bronco badge I'm sure it will be just another common 4-door SUV. So common it'll get lost in the sea of other popular 4 door SUV's that dominate the American car market.

In modern times people want and expect an SUV for the family -computer controlled with plenty of electronic gadgets, 2 door's are not popular and will not sell enough to justify building them.

Plus, with modern emmisions, gas mileage, and safety regulations automobile manufactuer's today can not -under Federal Law, build a "Bronco" as we know it.

Look at a modern Mustang or Camaro built to look like the originals -low customer demand and lagging sales.

"Jeeps" have been around for a long time w/o significant changes to the body style -modern 2-door Jeep sales numbers are pathetic. The modern 4-door SUV market is one of the most competitive market segments in the new car industry....because they sell.

With that said, I wouldn't mind a 4-door Bronco. Of course it won't be like the EBs of past, but reconfigured. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I'm sure ford is working on a new bronco. It's gonna have raptor drive train with air lockers front and rear. Its,also gonna be fully convertible with a straight axle up front. Then I woke up. My guess is something between an exploder and an escape with a bronco logo and off road stickers
