Alright, got a little bit of work done the past couple days, took the weekend off to hang with the NorCal boys at POPS place, what a blast.
Hung the doors, spent about 3 hours yesterday working on them, got them pretty close, just a little more work I think to get them acceptable. Going to throw the hard top on hopefully tomorrow so I can know where everything sits. Then bolt the body down and check everything one more time.
Since I am trying to get all my fitments done and get this driveable I decided to mount my radiator and get things figured out in the engine compartment. I am using a 94 Explorer aluminum 2 core radiator like Fungus and Dan Wheeler have used. Tried to make the explorer fan work, it would have been about perfectly lined up if I was running a body lift but I am not so it didnt clear like I was hoping so I went the other route that I was prepared for which was to use the Taurus fan. I mounted it 90 tilted and it almost fits perfect. Moved it so that the top edge would mount to the radiator and there is about 1.5" overhang on the bottom that I will seal up before final install. Took the air chisel to the stock radiator mounts and bolted the radiator up top. need to make the lower brackets maybe Friday, just some flat steel with a 90* bend. I snagged the lower bushings from the explorer to do the lower mount with. Super easy install. I didnt have to chop up my core support but I did have to cut the end off the water pump to get the fan to fit with enough clearance. Have about a half an inch clearance now, good enough for me. And if you hadnt seen the other write ups, this radiator is almost exactly the same size as the Bronco but has the reversed inlet/outlet as well will allow for the stock Explorer 4.0 hoses to be used.
