I picked up some new (used) tires & wheels for the bronco this weekend. 35x12.5 XTerrains on 15x10 3.5" backspacing. Got them for a great price!

I have a sagging 2.5" lift on it right now and I didn't think they'd fit, but with a little trimming to the back flare and some inside sheetmetal trimming in the front they work fine around town. Definitely wouldn't take it offroad like this though! The bronco actually rides a lot better with these tires. I guess they have a little more give than my old 31s did.

I have BC 4.5" rear springs and need to get the rest of the lift to go with them %)

Just thought I'd post some pics for those wondering "What fits with what lift?"

Thanks Rick. It's tight, but doesn't rub around town. Gears, rear locker, lift, and disc brakes are in the works!

I'm in the West U area, close to Buffaloe Speedway and Westpark.

Crab Cage

Thanks Terry! This is the Crab Cage made by Rob (he is "Crab" on this board).

Check out the website at http://www.ebgear.com/rollbars.htm

The fabrication on the cage is excellent, and he has good pricing on shipping. I ordered the cage fully welded and it was about $150 for shipping from Oregon to Houston.

The cage clears everything perfectly. All I had to do was put it in and bolt it down. No other modifications were necessary. Now I just need to tie it into the frame!

Friendswood/houston,
Hey Murdock,

Nice looking rig. I still have not mounted the tire carrier I got from you yet. Where did you find the tires and rims. I am in the market for some myself. Do you have any good sources here in houston you care to share?

It's great to see all the houston area representing. We all should get together one weekend to introduce ourselves to one another. I've got a beach house on Galveston Island down near San Luis Pass. Maybe we could all get together this summer for beer and BBQ. If anyone is interested send me a PM.

Murdock It looks great, and I love your cage

I thought I had a 3.5 inch lift, but after looking at your pics I am not sure what lift I have now. I know it is a old K Bar S lift.

I have a new Cage offroad 3.5 lift on it's way allong with bigger flairs, so hopefully iy will be enough lift to clear my 35's. If not I will just have to add a little body lift.

Here is what mine looks like with the 35's

Wow! So THAT's why you bought those low gears. Guess you'll be running with the big boys at Katemcy next year.

Lookin' sharp!

Don - Your post (showing 35s with the 3.5 lift) was one of the reasons I decided to try the 35s out now, instead of just storing them on my porch.

I've been watching www.pirate4x4.com for a while and saw these on there. I was also looking on ebay, but never saw any tires for a good price (plus I didn't want to pay for tires before seeing them in person).

Yeah, the LEBC Roundup at Katemcy really reinforced my bronco addiction! I won't be able to make it next year though - I'm moving back to the Last Frontier in October ;D .

I'm working on buying all the parts I need down here so I can save a BUNCH of money on shipping! I plan on getting the bronco all setup this winter so I'm ready to go for next summer.
