No caps! I have the same dilema - once you put the caps on there's no going back because of the scratches. Here's mine with WW wheels.

I think it looks great, very purposeful. Your paint and body work also seem to be top notch, it isn't easy to make black look that straight.

I agree. I would be to scared to go for a black on a truck as old as mine. No way I could get the awsome mirror like finish you have.

Great job.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone. Does anyone have a preference on which vendor to get the red centers for hubcaps? I think I am going to order some and put the covers on eventually.

New Tires, powder coated wheels (UPDATE with covers)

Well, I put the wheel covers on this morning, I love it. Let me know what you think.

No Lift? Not even a body lift? Let me know how that works out. I just bought a stock un-cut 77 that I may try to put 31x10.5s on. I was thinking of going 2.5" suspension lift, but I like the full look of yours.

No lift at all, everything is stock, I jacked up a front corner and tucked the back tie in about two inches and it never touches, and it could go further, there is almost 1/2" from the tread on the sidewall to the inner lip on the back wheel opening. Some day I will find somewhere to park to see how far I can stuff the back tire.

Looks great but I think I liked it better without the caps...maybe bigjhoov is onto something - dog dish is kind of the best of both worlds...

I think I am going to powerder coat my stock wheels on the 77 and run without the caps. Much nicer, cleaner look.
