Hello all,
New to this forum. Ilive in carbondale, Colorado. I have had a few EB's over the years, a 72 and a 73 back in the eighties. I was not looking for a Bronco until I saw this 69 half cab in Montrose. I am fully in mid life crisis mode, but decided to slow down instead of speed up, so i sold the Audi and now have this truck as daily driver (about 30 miles a day). It is a completely stock (other than the wheels, seats, and a small body lift) 6 banger 170, three on the tree. I don't think it is an original half cab, so I guess it is not stock. There is no rust, other than 2 small spots in the upper wheel wells that you can see from the engine bay. I am very stoked about this truck and am enjoying your site.

Welcome aboard mamankyle, nice Bronco and all, but dang, that is one big pup

How about some details on the Pup

And by the way, very nice Bronco and adventure move over the Audi.

The car is my daily driver so I am not going to do very much to it, as I like the fact that it is uncut and pretty original. I am in southern Utah quite a bit for backpacking, so I will be encountering alot of mud and snow etc, but nothing difficult. I think i will upgrade to a electronic ignition eventually, but the rig starts right up @ 10 below (it complained a little). It has 4:11 gearing so it tops out at 60, maybe 65 which is fine with me. It has some rattling at the transfer case handle, but that is the only annoying noise, and it really isn't annoying. The top was rhino lined, so it is pretty quiet. I woiuld like to paint or line the interior, and get a bench seat so I can fit three, and a roll cage for the half cab. It is used about a quart of oil the first 400 miles, it is dripping on the garage floor and i have not investigated yet. It is not burning it is far as I can see (no smoke). The transfer case and tranny are smooth, and all of the oil was changed, hubs were repacked. The clutch makes a noise only when i first start out in the morning, after depressing the clutch, it has a mild squeal only when the clutch pedal is on it's way up. The last EB I had a throw out bearing go out, but it squealed loud when the pedal was depressed, not when it was released. Any input on that would be appreciated. Maybe it needs adjustment, as I want the clutch to engage a little sooner. Thats all I know about this beast. The other beast is Malek, and he is a siberian husky and loves the new toy.

I have had 3 83 turbo quattro coupes, a 93 S4, a 91 200 20v avant (all of the rs4 goodies. 340hp), a 01 TT, and I just sold the 01 a4 avant. Fun cars but I am tired of computers (and expensive parts). Safest cars ever made. I enjoyed the 200 avant the most, just little old 160 mph wagon!

Nice find, good choice on dumping the Audi (I'm not against them, I just like Broncos more). Nice color too ;D

Welcome to CB!!! Sweet Halfie!!! :)

If the first three VIN characters are U14, then it was originally a half-cab. If they are U15, then it was originally a full-cab

Thanks everyone.
The vin is U15, so that solves that. Mamankyle is an old handle (my sons name is kyle). It came from "my man kyle". My name is Greg. You guys have a great site here. I am sure I will have plenty of questions, so this is the place to be.
Thanks again.

Welcome from a Western Sloper. I'm also a fan of the 4 Rings. Almost called about a 5cyl turbo "parts car" for sale in Carbondale last year, would love to pep up my 8890Q.

Hope to see ya out in the back country. You might want to ck out the Moab Bronco Safari in May. Or maybe not, you could end up changing your mind about keeping yours stock.;D
