Damn Jim, really small world. I worked at an aircraft engine overhaul facility on the Spartan airport campus and my FIL worked for Spartan from WW2 until the late 60s when they moved their overhaul facilities to South Texas. Wells has been shut down for over 20 years now, as has Safeway/Homeland. The town has pretty well exploded everywhere else, tho. I travel thru "AppleTurkey" every once in awhile on my way to jobs in California and Nevada. Maybe we can meet up for a bit.

Like Yeller said, I'm happy to help anyone that's trying to do their own work. I'm definitely not an expert and continue to make mistakes but hopefully I will learn. My profession is not restoring/working on Broncos but I like understanding what I own. There are too many folks buying Broncos and looking for someone to "fix it" for them.

To these people, at times I want to say (but I won't) you should have thought about that before buying the Bronco.

If they didn't know the issue/problem existed before buying, that is a different story.

I figure mechanics and restorers need to make a living, too!

I get your point, though. I’ve owned one EB or another since ‘93 and have never had them in someone else’s shop.

An easy way to spot a n00b is the use of the term “first gen.”

I am a newbee here. I thought that this forum was to help each other with sharing knowledge. Among other things.
I am glad to share my knowledge with anyone that needs it.
I have owned 8 early Broncos during the last 45 years and always do my own work, but I do ask questions when I need to.

Don't get me wrong. I have paid to have work done. It's always been due to lack of time to complete the project (Before COVID I traveled a lot for work). But in all cases I have done similar work in the past. Part of the enjoyment of owning a Bronco is being able to work on them. They are pretty simple.
