Hello all. Picked up an NP 435 with an Advanced Adaptor. Came out of a 73.

My jeep buddy is asking me if I have the correct pilot bushing and pressure plate for it.

Do I need to swap the to a different pilot bushing and pressure plate?

Thanks for the help.

Anyone have a build thread on this NP swap?

No you should not have to change anything. Some elect to go with a pilot bearing in lieu of bushing. Change throughout bearing while your there and inspect clutch and pressure plate. Should be a direct swap

... Years ago there were a lot of post & Tech articles on doing this. & I think one of the Bronco Drivers Magazine had a great article on doing this swap.
... I've done it but it was so many years ago I don't remember much. But I do love it.
... I do remember after I got it done I heated my shifted handle several times & bunt it to the correct angle.
.............
....& For the box to cover up the hole.. I took an oil box cardboard..THEN DUCK TAPED IT to the shape & size I wanted. & PUT FIBERGLASS ON IT INSIDE & OUT. I put about 3 coats of fiberglass on it.. I've cut it out 3 times then repaired it with more fiberglass.
I've even molded cup holder in mine. Later spray painted it black .. Works great.

FYI...I just picked up the wild horses tunnel corner and shifter boot kit for the NP435 and would highly recommend it. Makes a clean assembly on the tunnel cover and looks good!

Just as a sanity check, do I have the correct spline counts on the tranny and adaptor?

Front of NP, spline is 10 spline.

Coming out of the adaptor to the transfer case is 6 spline.

Am I good?

He's talking about out of the adapter - meaning the spud shaft. Not the actual ouput shaft of the transmission.
