All,

I am still pondering a tranny swap.

I would really like to see a NV4500 in a bronco, but not the shot from underneath or a shot of how the tranny looks on a frame.

I am looking for a photo of where the opening in the floor is for the tranny & where the stick resides.

Ideally, if someone has a photo of the JBG kit installed, that will give me a cost comparison to see what it buys me.

Thanks!

Bill

Not mine, but mine looks the same- including the Atlas II shifters.

That's pretty much where mine is also. If you use the aftermarket crossmember, then the position is pretty much always the same. You have to notch the body crossmember just a little. You will also need a 2" body lift unless you rework your body sheet metal.

I fit mine with a 1" body lift, though the remains of the tunnel stiffener (that I'd previously cut through doing an NP435 install) did need a little clearancing on the left side.

Adance Adapters' crossmember (which is what JBG sells) put my driveline lower in the back than it was with my stock Bronco crossmember under the NP435. Almost half an inch measured at the transmission mount under the NV. I welded a piece of 1/4" plate to the top of the AA crossmember to tuck things up a bit.

Now I need to look at my pans & mock up to see if I'll like the location & such!

Scotty's link showed some side views, if you want more I can snap some of my Bronco. I didn't like the straight shifter that AA (and JBG and WH) provide as part of the kit. Too far away from me with my long legs, I put a bend in it. Otherwise IMHO the shifter location is nicer than the NP435 I had before- farther back, and the top of the tranny doesn't stick up as high.
