I bought a nwmp 12gal metal aux tank off of ebay a while back. Finally pulled it out and found to to be missing a thing or two...mostly install instructions. Below is what i got. Anybody got the instructions so I can move forward.

You're missing two lag bolts, a fuel filter and the sending unit. Maybe a couple of other small parts but it is tough to tell. The link to the instructions on Tom's web site is below. You should be able to pick up the bolts @ homedepot and Tom's will have the sending unit. The fuel filter is a basic in-line filter you should be able to get from any auto parts store. A NAPA 3033 will work fine.

Best regards!

Tim

PS. Rather than trying to mark the positions for the holes for the bolts, I found it easier to buy a long drill bit, get the tank in place using a floor jack and then drill the holes in the floor using the attachment holes in the tank flanges as guides.

NWMP is very helfpul too. 503-359-4427. What did you pay for it?

Just installed mine not too long ago and was pretty simple. Luckily the holes were already drilled for me since the tank was on the Bronco when I bought it. It is very tight so measure 10 times and cut once! Put something between the top of the tank and the belly of your Bronco so the sending unit doesn't ground out. I used foam roll bar padding that I cut in half

Attached some pics that may help including the first time I dropped the tank and the 2 bolts you'll need. I would recommend getting it hot tanked at a radiator shop as well. Who knows whats stuck to the inner walls.

Test the sending unit before installing the tank. Make sure the seal is good too. Note the extra cut I had to make to get a hose on the pickup nipple

Buy the aux tank filler neck elbow that the vendors sell. I tried finding something local and nothing fit right or would bend properly.

Also check this thread for a neck vent elbow that works well: http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201013

Oh and mines older :) No leaks at all. Staying with the manual valve or going electric? I went electric and love it!

Any questions, post up!

fatboy4211, your pictures look like mine. It has two holes all the way through the tank. The long bolts in your picture go through the drivers floor (with the big fender washers first) and through the tank, Mine doesn't have the "J" bolts and flanges on the front and back, like JefeAZ's pics.

I just used a floor jack to postion the tank, taped a sharpie to a dowl and marked the underside of the floor, with the tank in position. I removed the drivers seat and drilled the holes. Put the bolts and washers in and jacked up the tank and bolted it on. I used the same filler hose, vent tube, and supplie line as I had with the stock aux tank.

Been doing well since the early 90's. Since I now have EFI and a 32 gal main tank, I use it instead of Gerry cans on long trips. I have a cheap electric pump that turns on with the tank selector switch on the dash to pump it into the main tank.

I don't remember mine coming with instructions either.

the tank has never been used. everything was capped off with what looks like the factory plugs. tank is clean. just very dusty and lotsa scratches.
this pic shows what i believe to be the sending unit installed.

thanks for all your suggestions

BTW....i think i disconnected four hoses from the oem tank. the new tank has 5 portals (lack of better word)

Looks good. One of the connectors is for the ground. Simply attach it to one of the screws securing the sending unit. The other, obviously is for the sending unit connection.

As for the fifth port, I simply capped the port for the fuel return which is the small port next to the vent.
