I assume this is an old school lift. Basically blocks like you normally see on cheap leaf spring lifts, right?

The new suspension systems of today are so far superior to the coil & leaf springs of yester-year they're not even in the same category.

The blocks were a way to gain height, back in the day...but weren't really safe/stable and sacrficed ride quality.

You cant go wrong buying new/modern suspension parts from the best suppliers like Wild Horse's or Duff's.

I'm curious if Duff made that spring block. Almost all of the suspension stuff on it is from like 30 years ago, but blue Duff stuff. It has an old sticker too. What do you think?

I'm def replacing all the springs and such by the way.

You may be right, and that makes sense. I seen the Blue C Bushings and new it was Duff right away, but the block looks homemade to me.

However I'm not an expert on 20 year old Duff parts, but have been buying from them off-and-on over many years. My suspension parts are all Duff & Wild Horses -because they make the best stuff.

Back in the day the Bronco owner probably didn't have many choices and this is the best he could come up with at the time. Fast forward, and now we have better quality parts and choices. So much easier to build/rebuild a Bronco now than 20 years ago!

I don't know if you read my build but this thing sat for over 20 years. It's like a Bronco time capsule. Speaking of unavailable parts back in the day , his "removable door hinges" just have a bolt and nut. It doesn't look to be a Duff special. Bronco owners have always been resourceful I guess....

I bought a Bronco once with the same kind of thing going on. I took it off quick and put some taller coils on it.

Looks the same yep. I'll end up doing the same thing. Your's rode better after you switched out the springs I assume, right?

No because I installed some old school springs and as mentioned above, they aren't like the springs of today but I was okay with that since I had them laying around.

Take some degreaser and a power washer to yours before you crawl under it and start working and get everything as clean as possible. Your eyes will thank you for the rust and dirt that didn't fall into them.

And once it's washed, start a daily regimen of hosing all the hardware down with a good penetrating oil! Give it enough time to creep in, and disassembly will be that much easier.

Mine has blocks just in the rear (old K bar S lift), but man those front blocks you have look sketchy!

You ain't kidding! About the cleaning....I think my uncle went crazy mudding and parked it just after. The thing has dried mud on everything under there!! Some of the mud on the bottom of the flat areas is like an inch thick.

That penetrating oil idea is a good tip. Thanks.
