After more months of sitting than I want to admit, my '66 finally saw the light of day this afternoon. The condenser had taken a new path all on its on inside the distributor. Then the gas would not go into the carb. The float was hung down........ We freed it up after some encouragement. So, new fuel filter, old gas out "seafoam" treatment in, new condenser we are riding. I feel like after its neglect and unknown age of the current factory carb internals (289, 2brl), a rebuild might be in order before fall cruising.
Where are folks getting their carb rebuild kits-Napa, Carquest or ordering from the bronco specific parts houses? This will be a flashback for me as we have had something with a form of efi since 2000..........
TIA

I picked mine up at Advaced Auto Parts last year...hope this helps

Thanks-we try to buy some stuff at Advance but was unsure of their "quality" on carb kits-uncharted water for me :( This will work out well as they are the closest parts store to me!!

Advance has a Sorenson kit that I have used, it's good. Auto Zone has a kit that I think has the base gaskets (2) with it.

The Advance "Carb mounting gasket" is 60716 - Carb to EGR Plate
The Advance "Carb mounting Gasket" is 60244 - EGR Plate to Intake

You will need these with the Sorenson Kit.

They both have the same name on the package ( I'm holding them now) but one is gasket thick and the other is 1/16-1/8" thick (carb to EGR Plate)

I got mine for my 66 at NAPA. My carb had no ID tag so it took us a while to figure out what kit I needed but its been rebuilt and running well for close to 2 years.
