hmmm, is your frame level? if so maybe the lip on your flange is bent to far down? Do you have new body mount bushings? If not your old ones could be worn

looking at the inside flat, it does look like it's tilted/twisted a little. the sleeves look to be leaning as well

fairly new 2" body lift.

I may just replace those two rails. I don't want to. But I want to make it as right as I have the skill set to do. I think the front of bed rail may be what's throwing everything else out of whack. I couldn't get the tunnel cover or the seat platform to sit right, and if that bed support rail is racked and / or twisted, that would explain the problems with the floor metal. Yes?

Any other ideas?? Thanks - Jim

I would clamp/screw them all tight together and weld it up. Mine were twisted a bit as well but pulled together when clamped. That seat platform is like 14 gauge metal and pretty rigid. That, when welded to the braces makes for a rigid floor. Once you get the seat platform in than you can fit the other pieces, They all require trimming and rebending to fit. Ken

It looks like this sag is your issue. Skiddy noticed it too. Jack the outer and see if this comes up.

Thanks MC! I woke up this morning and immediately thought, let's try the Jack and BFH approach. I just don't want to half-ass it like the PO did. I want to "whole ass" it! ;D

When I worked at GM in the late 70's and early 80's in the body shop the metal hardly ever fit together tight. That is why the spot welders had around 500 ft pounds of clamping force. They would clamp and weld the gaps together. Then when you cut them apart 40+ years later they will twist and deform. When they're close just clamp them and weld. Ken

Make sure the top of the bed rails are level on both sides of the truck. Make sure the lip on the lower part of the rocker panels where the door sets in is level on both sides of the truck. The floor channel supports can be moved around pretty easily. Its when they get welded to the floor they get stiff and make a box beam. When you put your screws in before you weld, all those gaps get pulled up tight, as long as your top holes are big enough to clear the screw threads going in.

By "outer" do you mean towards the rear? If I jack the inner (towards the front) that's just going to make the floor pan level problem worse? Make sense?

Jack that outer edge where the quarter panel, rear door B pillar, rocker panel, and cross brace all come together. With the body mount bolted in place, I bet you will see everything on that outside area come up. You have to remember, the body is being supported by that mount right now because you have the floor cut out. This is putting downward pressure on that area allowing it all to sag.

If you wait to cut it out, then you'll have more options later if you decide to go twin stick, or move locations due to interior center box or cover.
Did you name it redemption?

It's "project redemption." But it'll get a proper name when I truly land on a paint color, I think.
