Painless Wiring routing and covering

So im about to install a painless harness and im looking for some ideas on what kind of wiring cover/sleeves everyone has used. I have seen where most people use the split plastic but wanted to see if anyone else had other ideas. It looks near impossible to shrink wrap with the tail light ends on but I might still be game. Also how have you routed the wiring for the rear of the vehicle? Personally I feel that they could have easily done a shrink wrap before they put the ends the wires and made a much nicer product and saved me a bunch of trouble but then it would have cost more and they couldn't have sold the split plastic kit.

Not sure what you mean by “shrink wrap.” I used the braided split loom and used dry vinyl tape on certain sections.

I used the wildhorses4x4 harness loom kit and I’m real happy with how it worked out.

That split loom stuff is pretty cool. I happen to have several rolls of self fusing silicone tape that I was considering wrapping the kit with but then I wouldn’t be able to see the labels so can’t decide what exactly to do.

Gotcha. Google wire loom, you can find a lot of options. The dry vinyl tape is good for sealing sections up, and it’s easy to remove since there’s no adhesive. If you use any of the corrugated plastic split loom, get the stuff with the grey stripe, better heat resistance.

I used the braided loom. Goes on easy with the tool. I used a cigar torch at the cuts to heal the ends.
