Parking pawl

I think I broke the parking pawl its a 74 C4. Have reverse 1 2 3. When I put it in park still rolls. I was told you can remove the pan and valve body to get to it. I did that and I not seeing the pawl. I have watched a couple of videos and it looks like you need to get at it from the end. I could use some help.

Yea Pretty sure it's in the tail section. Which would mean the T-case would have to come off.

Not that I am doubting you but before you lose your mind put the valve body back in correctly and verify park with the manual lever. Count all your clicks to mack sure you have P-R-N-D-2-1. The parking pawl is a short, thick, heat treated, tough ass little part to break off. I am sure it can be done but it would take a lot force and the vehicle passengers would take a beating! I think your linkage is out of adjustment (from my chair thousands of miles away).

I was told same, hardly ever see where the pawl breaks off...
