Performer cam in a 351

Guys, I've been collecting parts over the years for the eventual engine replacement. I have a 351 and a 302 Edelbrock intake, a 302 Edelbrock Performer cam, 302 timing chain and gears and a holly 600 carb.

I just came across a pretty good deal on an un-assembled 351. I'll do as many checks as I can to make sure it's rebuild-able. One of my original plans was to put all these performance parts on my existing 302. However now I'm thinking I may go with the 351.

Questions is, will the 302 performer cam, timing chain, gears, work with the 351.

For what it's worth this is a 100% street driven truck, with a 4.11 rear and nv3550.

Thanks guys, is there something I need to do with the firing order. As I understand it, the 302 has a different order than the 351. Seems strange to me that a the same crank would work with a different firing order.

Also I think the 89 351 I'm looking at, has an electric fuel pump, can I put in a mechanical fuel pump.

Cam will work so long as you put the plug wires on as a 302.
Works great.
As stated above, everything will work except the intake.
351 with those parts looks to be a good winning combination. Go for it, you will like it.

Firing order is dependent on the cam shaft. Later 5.0's have the same firing order as a 351. Most if not all V8's can have 2 different firing orders if the cam is changed accordingly.
