I purchaced the Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition along with the flamethrower coil from TBP. Am I going to need graphite spark plug wires to go with these? Also - mainly I am switching because my points were frying up about every 30 miles - does whatever is frying the points need to be addressed before I switch to the electronic ignition so as not to burn that up as well? Thanks in advance

Petronix install

Your petronix kit should be pretty user friendly. The one item you will want to know is in regard to usage of an external resistor in the ignition primary. Some coils specify them and others do not. Coils of any kind tend to be intolerant of operating outside a specified voltage range, so the resistor thing is important. Good luck!

If you don't have a resistor, that is probably the cause of you burning up your points. The Pertronix can be installed with or without a resistor but you need to measure your coils primary resistance first. Eight cylinder engines require a minimum of 1.5 ohms of primary resistance. Do not remove resistors if the coil primary resistance is less than 1.5 ohms.
If your Ignition coil has the recommended primary resistance, remove or bypass all external resistors.

If you have the recommended Flamethrower coil you should be good here.

Also be advised if you have the standard Pertronix it and the coil can be burned up by leaving the ignition switch on (motor not running). The Pertronix II doesn't have that problem.

I believe you can use standard core plug wires for the Ignitor. You need suppression (resistive) core for the Ignitor II.
