Looking for pics and feedback from guys running large tires with minimal lift. My goal is to run 38-42" tires with a 3.5" lift. The reason is low center of gravity with large diameter tires to rock crawl. I have a 2" BL that I need to keep for clearance reasons. Post 'em up!

mtfit on here has 39.5" Iroks and he has a pretty low suspension lift. I think he is right around the same height as me and I have 36's with 3.5" SL + 2" BL.

I'm running a 5.5" leaf and 37's and I cut the fenders all the way up to the body seam. I've got no problem smashing the tires into it as well. Without a body lift or severe hacking, I don't think it should be done. I plan on adding a 2" BL to clear 40" tires when I make the switch... Damn LTB's are back ordered forever!

That's what I'm running on the trail truck. 3.5 inch suspension w' 3 inch body lift on full width axles. Tires are 39.5x13.50x15 iroks.
Edit to add: I've cut and trimmed the inner fenders and still rub when articulating.

Running my 39.5 IROKS with a 5.5" SL and 1" BL...and I've had to beat, smash and cut the fenderwells about as much as one can..and still rub pretty bad in the rear.

Same as everybody else...5 1/2" Cage lift, 2" body lift, 39.5 Pit Bill Rockers and cut fenders.

The Cage rear springs don't allow my susp. to flex as well to come close to rubbing but I use almost all the room up front. With bump stops you would be sacrificing some up travel but you could make 3 1/2" work. I have thought about lowering mine......

Pics are in my Build tread below

Looking good! I currently have 35's on my Bronco with stock suspension and the 3" BL with plenty of room because the fenders are cut out to the max by the PO. If I limit up travel this gives me a good idea of what I can run.

Not really what you are looking for but. Here is Newport with 35's and WH 4.5" SL . I have no BL on this ride. I am fixing to install a set of 37" BFG,s and I am not worried. Oh and it will be a mall crawler. LOL Wish me luck on the new venture.

Hope to see you next time you make it to Holy's

If you take a look in my gallery I have a couple pictures of mine with 38.5x11's, 3.5 SL and 1" body. I wanted the same thing that your going for, minimum lift and max tire size. I don't know how much body work you want to do but I cut the outside of the fenders and I tubbed the rear like a drag car (moved the gas filler back 5") and then what I call stretched the front inner fenders. I haven't put up any pictures recently but it is a done project and I don't have any issues at full flex.

One, just wanting to watch/subscribe to the thread..

Two, I am building one now with a similar goal... BUT, food for thought... I am running 5.5 springs, with raised brackets, so really only gaining 3.5 SL.. Not sure on the body lift yet, thinking 2"...

Is the Bronco your planning to build the one you had for sale? I saw another thread where you were looking at putting a 429 in it. So is your plan full widths and a 429? Sounds like a mean machine.

Here is a picture of mtfit's Bronco with the 39's. His signature line says that he has a 3.5" lift and I'm not sure of what body lift he is running.

Sounds good, I'll have to let you know if I do.

Same one. I'm in the parts gathering stage and about to order my rear leaf springs. 429/C6/NP205 with Sterling rear and D60 front.

Looks good, your pic and Broncotime's is what I'd like to shoot for.

Here's what I'm working with. Fenders are already cut, but would like to go more similar to SpareParts.

3.5" JBG long travel leaves, 2" b/l, 39.5 tsl's, 3.75 back spacing on 14 bolt/d60 full widths. Rear wheel tubs were enlarged to accomodate stretch and small lift. No rub at all in rear. Ok the flares a little. 4.5" W/H coils up front, minimal rub in front of fenderwell.

yes, this is my rig. 3.5 suspension, 3" body lift, fenders cut, inner fenders cut and bent, and front tires hit arms and shocks at full lock.
