I'm looking for pics of how people have mounted the fan shroud for a '94 Explorer V6 radiator in conjunction with the Explorer 5.0 clutch-driven fan. I've read every thread I could find on the subject, but still have some confusion.
Mocking-up both, the shroud needs to sit about 1 1/2" above where it would typically mount to the radiator in order to be centered vertically over the fan (it's sitting about 1 1/4" high in these pics.) The radiator is clamped to the core support, with the mounting ears flush with the top of the support. Bronco has a 1" body lift and stock-style engine mounts. I haven't checked to see if the hood will clear with the shroud positioned here.
I suspect that the best method would be to make some sort of filler strip out of aluminum to bridge the gap between the radiator and shroud (both at the top and bottom of the radiator.)
Also, If I drill a hole through the core support to mount the radiator, the driver side hole will go through the middle of this fin. Guessing I can just trim a bit out of the fin to clear the bolt/nut.
