Spent 6 months working & playing there in 1976 helping build the powerline from Blue Mesa Lake dam powerhouse to Lake City. Did you make the Lake City to Siverton run? If not you should. Theres some real heavy duty dont try this alone grade 4 trails NE of Gunnison, looks like you found some.
I spent a year out there too and loved it. I did a few mild trails in my truck (the same one that had to get me back to the east coast). I'd love to move out there sometime.
I ran the Lake City to Silverton in about 1990 I didn't think it was difficult but steep and twisty, the big drop-offs kinda played headgames as I remember These pics were taken southwest of town only 5 miles away.
