Plugs into license plate light socket options

Good morning everyone!

I am searching for something that I could plug into the existing license plate light socket that would provide me a two wire harness. I'm thinking there should be an Amazon item but I'm not coming up with the right search terms.

The reason is that my protofab bumper puts the license plate on the outside of the jerry can, and I would like to relocate my license plate light to be fully legal.

Rather than tap into the harness I was thinking I could just plug something into the light socket and wire up my new license plate light.

Thanks,
JB

I thought the plate light left the loom down by the frame with a bullet connector. Should be easy to start there.
Also, the above photo is of a dual filament bulb, you would need a center point for a single filament.

@Johnnyb i believe .94 OR is correct. it also wouldn't be too hard to disconnect the bullet plug and get a new one or extend from there

Yes, I believe it's a number 1178 bulb, and I just checked summit and couldn't find any match. @.94 OR I'll look for the bullet connector but I would prefer plugging in to the bulb because I believe the bullet connector is above my fuel tank.

The connectors should be near the exit hole in bottom of tailgate.

I'll go poking around on Monday. It'd be kind of nice to keep the original light working even though there's no plate there right now. A male female bullet connector and some shrink tube and I should be able to build a harness to do that!

Thanks,
JB

The looms that I have been around drop down from each tail light and cross the rear of the vehicle just inboard of the tailgate above the frame. I'm betting you can get access to the bullet connector.
I like this solution better than a band-aid of adding another slip joint into your existing light socket which over time will be less reliable.
