Personally, if it was mine I would cut the drop radius arm brackets off and install stock replacement brackets. You are only going 3 1/2" in lift. I think that 4" drop will cause nothing but problems when you try and align it. Since you already will have the welder out for the shocks it would take just a little bit more time.

What makes you say it will make it harder to align Tom?
Since they're basically just keeping things at the stock angles (or close enough), the alignment should show a more stock-like reading. And since it's better than an average chance his caster readings were too low from the factory to begin with, having an additional 4 degrees to play with is a total bonus on a '71 like his.

Other than some additional flex maybe, causing some inconsistencies, I don't see them as being an issue.
And he's not expecting it to spend much time on trails at this point either (though hopefully that'll change a bit someday? ;D ) so ground clearance isn't an issue at all.

I have 7 degree bushings and 3.5" of lift and have less than 2° positive caster. Having 4 more would be sweet!

I'd say keep the drop brackets also, The only real downside to them is the loss in ground clearence which even offroading you will only really notice that in the rocks. For a street truck they should make it handle better and let you tune in the caster more then being maxed out with the 7 degree bushings.

...But what do I know. haha

My thought is that the Bronco when lifted with only 3 1/2" you do not need to drop the radius arms. The suspension hanging down is also an issue. I can only speak from my experience. I have a 4 1/2" lift in front and am using the 7 degree c-bushings. There is no jumpiness to the front end and it steers straight and true even at 80 mph on the highway.
