I called and talked to the guy. He said that somebody had already offered to come over today and take it off his hands, but that if the deal fell through he would call me back. He wasn't forthcoming with any additional information.

I dont know if you other guys noticed but I did a little zooming in on the interior picture and found the following.

The steering column has been changed, no cover on dash and unique steering wheel. Zooming in on the column brings out what appears to collapasible bellows. I believe this column is out of a Dodge car possiblely late 60's early 70's vintage.

That's the "Bronco" steering wheel from Grant? I have one I got from Tom's. It comes with that bellows looking spacer. It's not that old of product to need painting....unless one was hiding something.

OK, I wrote him and asked him if there was someplace I could see it during the day, just to stop by and look. Here was his respose:

"Actually I do it is parked in Van Nuys Currently. Not sure if your familiar with the area but it's right Sepulveda. I believe the actual street is Erwin. IF you like it i will cut you a deal. thanks "

Maybe if I have time I'll look today.

There is a lot about this truck that looks like someone took some pride and care in it. The roof rack, the off road lights, the lift, the wheel/tire combination....even the grant wheel. Take away the bizarre paint job, and it was probably a nice truck.

this thread and the idea of my EB being kleptoed by some yahoo makes me think that registering Ernie on the the Early Bronco Registry people might be a good idea.

I liked the way they used to take care of horse thieves, right there in the public square, from the strongest tree limb. Stand the sorry sob up on that roof rack and drive it out from under him.

I sure hope it's not stolen, if so OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!

He might have painted over tons of rust and bondo and figured he would slam the auction winner with a parts truck?

This is really interesting. Did you notice that the tail lights look like they have been painted over. Anybody got any updates on this baby?

Did anyone ever get to go see the truck? How about trying to contact the buyer? I think we could still take him down if it is stolen.
