I am about finished with my Tom's Bronco Power Booster conversion and the brake warning light on the dash is staying lit.

Any experiences with this happening or what I may do to fix the problem?

Thanks.

one side of your brake system has a imbalance your probably going to have to open a bleeder on maybe the rear first and see if the light goes off. Bleed like you would normally but you only need to open one bleder. if not try opening a bleeder on the front. Worst case the valve has stuck in one postion and you wont be able to recenter it. in that case you may just have to unhook the light. Until you can replace the valve.

Did you put a new proportioning valve in and replace the H-block?

Yes-- the h block was replaced by the new proportioning valve. My new problem is much worse-- I backed it out of the garage today and I do not have ANY brakes at all and the pedal is soft. I can't see any leaks anywhere so I am not sure what is going on...

Did you verify that the pin in the booster is adjusted properly for the master cylinder you're using?
Depth-wise, there is very little leeway for freeplay. If it's not almost touching the back of the master piston, you'll have a very soft pedal and not as much braking potential as you should.

Although there are other things to check too, this would be my first thing. It's one of the first things in line, and mechanically has to be correct or nothing else will work right either.
Kind of like centering the steering box before installing all new steering linkage.

Good luck.

Oh, and this is just the power conversion, correct? As opposed to adding new disc brakes at the same time?

If brakes too, you did grind, grind, grind on the knuckles for caliper clearance, right?
Just checking...

Paul-- thanks for the info. As an update, I have everything up and working. I still had air in the lines and this was the problem all along. I did do the disc brake conversion as well-- and grinded the knuckle down. I guess its true what they say-- when you think you have bled the brakes enough-- do it 3 more times!!%)
