Power Steering Lines Remote Reservoir

Hey guys. Working on a custom project with hydroboost.

The reservoir that I am planning to use remotely has one outlet (large to pump) and one inlet (smaller).

I am curious as to what you think about my line routing idea.

Will run the large reservoir port to the pump, in this line I will place a t for the hydroboost return.

The steering gear will have a straight shot into the reservoir.

I am planning this for two reasons. First, Ford has their hoses this way on modern remote reservoir applications.
Second, it looks cleaner and won't need hoses all over creation.

Typically, when someone does hydroboost they add the t into the steering gear cooler return to reservoir line. Just making sure the return for gear has the straight shot on the t and the hydroboost has the side port on the T. I'm not a fan of this idea as I have done it before and it didn't seem to work that great.

Thought, Suggestions?

I've used Tee's in several Hydro boost installs and never had any issues with foaming or cavitation. The hydro unit only returns a small amount of fluid, so teeing into the large hose should work fine.

My brakes hang for a second after i let off the pedal. I think it's the tee not allowing the fluids to return fast enough. Not a big deal, but ill swap to a dual return reservoir at some point.

You mean a pressure line, or a gravity line? The large line only connects to the power steering inlet, as well as the remote reservoir. Was planning on ting into this as I have done the t in the PS gear return before, and even having it mounted the correct way I had some trouble.

Saw Ford did it this way on a couple applications so it peaked my curiosity.

I need some Help with this ... I have never seen a -10 (5/8's) or a -12 (3/4's),Power Steering Lines .... is this because they are plumb to a Ram-Assist ... ????

That's actually a special purpose hose (the "suction" line, that runs from the pump to the resivior), that hose has to be rated for vacuum.
That's actually not a gravity feed as the pump sucks from the resivior. When people use the incorrect hose (not vaccum rated) that feed hose is known to suck shut.
Adding a T there would make the pump suck from the t as well, drawing in air.

Make the Hydroboost return to the resivior. It's common to T into the pumps return line, but it's best to return into its own port in the resivior
