I have a 72 with manual steering. The steering wonders kinda bad. I have a 2.5 James Duff suspention lift on it with a steering stableizer. My question is what are me options for power steering? I hate spend $1000.00 on a power steering kit. Can I get a pump and steering box off of an F-150? Any help would be appriciated.

you need pump, box, pulleys, hoses, and probably a u-joint for the steering shaft. If you use a 2wd f-150 box you will need a frame bracket. f-150 4x4 box is abetter swap but it also needs to be modified.

Search "Cheap Power steering". I think all of us laid out every usable and cheap PS upgrade ever imagined. Personally I would look for a Nissan or Toyota steering box over having to hassle with swapping 4x4x2 components into an F150 box. That is unless you are planning to stretch your wheelbase, then the F-150 / FSB box is the way to go.

I think all said and done the kits are a good way to go. Or just keep an eye on Ebay and the classifieds and try and score a stock setup.

Wandering is not caused by having manual steering.
Possible causes of wandering include:
Incorrect toe
Not enough caster (c-bushings)
Worn trac bar bushings
Worn tie rod and drag link joints
Worn gear box.

Lay under the front and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth and see what you can see moving. This will give you an idea where your slop is.
