Power steering pulley/ belt alignment

For my bronco I have bought a 289 that was pulled from a 67 bronco. It has 2 groove crank and water pump pulleys. The alternator is a single groove pulley, mounted so the alternator belt runs on the forward (closest to fan) groove of the other pulleys. Mounting my power steering pump, that I believe was robbed from a 77 bronco, it also lines up with the forward groove.
Obviously one of these is wrong, but what needs to move? I quick search of the photo gallery didn't help. The pump is unknown, so it could be wrong. Or, the alternator mounting could be wrong. ??

I'm not sure if this will help or not but on my 351W with a power steering pump from a 77 EB and timing chain cover & water pump from a 73 EB the forward groove lines up with the power steering pump and the rear groove lines up with the alternator.

If I recall correctly the pulleys on the power steering pump and aletrnator are a press fit on the shaft and can be repositioned if there's room to move them on the shaft..

I have a ‘69 302 that I added PS. I used the PS pump bracket from BC Broncos, I believe and the Saginaw/canned ham style PS pump. The alternator belt is in the inner groove (closest to the motor) and the PS pump belt is in the outer groove (closest to the radiator). Might be different if you are using the Ford (Thompson?) style PS pump.

I would check the spacer behind the alternator bracket. If it was spaced out beyond the factory spacer with washers or something else, remove the extra and everything should line up.

That or cut down the spacer to align the alternator with the rear groove.

This will be my solution.
Cut down the alternator spacer thats there now, and make a small "adjustment" to the alternator tensioning bracket.
Thank you

Update: here is what I’m up against. The power steering pump is well aligned with the front pulley groove. I need to move the alternator back in line with the rear groove (9/16-5/8) which means cutting down the spacer, but then the rear of the alternator will hit this bracket that is bolted to the head. So, I either find a way to mount it without using this bracket, I grind down the bracket, or I find a smaller alternator.
Can anybody take a picture of how the alternator mounts in stock configuration? Specifically, where the alternator pivot bolts to the head. Does the bolt thread into an adapter bracket like this but then both to the head, or does the pivot bolt thread directly into the head?

You can reclock the the alternator halves to get the electrical connections in a different spot if that might help..as far as alt mounting loose the bracket on the head mount alt and spacer in outer most hole in head as your pivot but the outer bracket most likely wont line up....Ill get a picture but its my original 302 brackets on a 351w so disregard the adaptor on the head

so this is the bracket arrangement from my 72 that’s on a 351 but on a 302 you would delete the bracket on the head and it lines up with the outer hole on the head

You have an adapter on the passenger side head that's doing the same job as the spacer. So the alternator is too far forward. That has to go. Also the front bracket on the alternator is incorrect. It's not an EB part. These;https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Mercu...rityMailPaddedFlatRateEnvelope!85711!US!-1are the correct parts. Someone swapped in an engine from another vehicle, and were too lazy to move the front dress form the OE EB to the donor engine. They didn't come from either a '67 nor a '77 Bronco as originally equipped.

I'm happy to see EPB72 has the correct 351W alternator adapter from a '69 Mustang 351W. These are getting hard to find. There's another for the power steering pump that's different but easy to fabricate.

Thank you. I suspected it was the wrong bracket, but with nothing to compare it to, I was stuck
