Problem replacing windshield frame

I have run in to a problem as I am starting to reassemble my two plus year long resto-mod project. I have replaced both inner fenders, kick panels, door posts, rockers, and windshield frame. I bought the windshield frame used with a good hinge. I braced the entire firewall and core support prior to any diassembly. My problem exists with the windshield frame alignment. My fender, door, quarter panel, and rocker all line up but the windshield frame sits several inches forward of the door at the top. This is with no bolt through the dash. I can physically pull it back towards the door and make it line up but it seems like something is not right. Any suggestions?
