I did shoot it. HVLP gun with a 1.7 tip and sprayed at about 60psi(after some trial and error) to get it as smooth as possible. In the end, it looks like an extreme case of orange peel(pun not intended) vs. the usual look of bedliner. I was coached by someone who has used it often on the inside of custom motorcycle fenders. I believe he achieves a smoother result because of the size of the project. I also sprayed it wearing my full, fresh air hood since it is an isocyinate(sp?) hardener. I used four cans and am 1000%(hyperbole not a typo) glad I had a primer that was close to the right color. Tinting with base coat did not provide very good coverage. Film build was good, but color coverage was not. I covered the floor you see, plus the outside of the kick panels(forward to the grill, but not inside the inner fenders), and the back side of the front fenders with the four bottles.(4.4 liters of mixed product including the tint)

p.s. I like your moto about the number of Fords vs. available time.

I have two tricks up my sleeve. 1) I am a corn farmer who has less to do in the winter months. 2) My father is "all in" on this. He is in the shop 6.5 days a week. He has done most of the frame, all of the engine/trans/axles, repainted a lot of the little parts that are ready for reinstall, as well as some of the bodywork. I have done the tub assembly, roll bar fab, and some of the painting. Now that I type it out, I am feeling like a slacker..

Despite our best efforts, I have to admit defeat and get the JK ready for Moab Safari. I had hoped to take the Bronco, but a couple small delays added up. If I had the paint that was delayed, and if I were not traveling with the family before Safari, it might have happened. Instead, it will sit like this for a while.

Thank you. We have made nice progress, and making the first real drive on trail, might not have been the best idea. Almost everything is restored. Mostly assembly left. I am pleased with the product so far.

Taking a proven rig to Safari does lower the stress level.

Please tell me that is a joke, not a comment on the quality of Raptor? I don't plan on crossing the Rubicon, but see it bopping around CO mountains or Moab trails like Hell's or White Rim. Unless someone makes a stupid offer on it.

I meant just looks to good to get scratched up. Very impressed.

Upon assembly, my ignorance of Broncos came to light. See, I unknowingly fitted the wrong door. The wrong door was pulled when my order was filled, and I just flat didn't notice. Dad and I are still scratching our heads on that one. Anyway, with over 10hrs of work already into the wrong door, we punted, and just put more work into it. The old door provided the pieces we needed to make it all work. So, my driver's door is now a test. Anyone who notices it in person, will truly be a Bronco expert.

Finished. Well, road tested anyway. The underside shots were taken at the muffler shop, and the rear driveshaft was also obviously missing at the time. I drove it for the first time yesterday, and put 30 miles on it. Mostly short trips, then back to the shop to tweak things. Another few trips like that, and it will be "done".

p.s. my phone camera does funny things with the color of the paint sometimes. The engine shots above, are some of those times.
