Here's a few of my favorites.

The rifle (not mine) had a bore sight laser left in and shot.

I left @lars out of this discussion 🤐

I wonder what the NRR of clear plastic is?

Long gone LGS used to have a sectioned Super Redhawk barrel mounted in a picture frame. Clearly visible were the 6 lead bullets still stuck in it.

BTW that was done with one of the wheels @ntsqd recommends. Can't fix stupid.. miraculously after a bit over a year the only residual damage is a little nerve tingliness on the outside of my hand and that is getting better. Dodged a bullet (cutting wheel)... I think, I hope, I learned a(nother) lesson.

Man, every time I use one of those I can't think about much else but the wheel coming off and sticking in me. I try to stand to the side but obviously that probably doesn't matter when it lets go.

I was in a metal fab shop years ago and we started talking about cut off wheels and grinders and he loved Metabo stuff, he felt it was best.

He then pointed up to the ceiling which was wide open to the rafters and at least 20 high, man there were old wheels stuck all over that ceiling insulation. He said they were all off brands, no Metabo yet. Makes you think!

I shouldn't tell this story but I did that last year helping my great nephew sight in a new rifle. Got in a hurry and left the laser bore sight in. Pulled the trigger and nothing got hurt thankfully! I realized what had happened when I pulled the trigger and saw something explode in front of me...

I've worn out one of those metal cored, diamond cut-off wheels. The other one is still going strong. No sign of fatigue cracks or anything that would make me concerned about it failing. So far I think that they're not only much longer lasting, they're also safer than a bonded cut-off wheel. I do wear my gauntleted heavy MIG welding gloves when using them.

Agreed, my comments were really pointed toward the fiber type cutting discs.

Sounds like it's time for a "Remove Before Flight" type attachment for the trigger when using those.
