I just pulle dthe body off the chassis and know I am removing the engine and tranny. Should I have the tranny rebuilt or at least replce the seals while it is out? It has 58,000 original miles on it and worked well when I got the EB. The tranny is a c-4 auto 1976. The only problem I had with it is that it clunked when I put it in gear. I figure while it is out I might as well have it looked at. Also what is the price for a trnny rebuild?

I could be wrong but I think that clunk is the famous ford 9" "clunk".
Otherwise I suppose it all depends on your funds. I'm of the opinion, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Although, if you plan on doing some rough trails, it might be worth while to have the planetaries, bands, clutch packs and valve body upgraded.

I'm sure this doesn't help you much. Just thinking outloud.

Not so much upgrading as it is making sure all the seals are still good.
