Working on the 3550 swap, the bearing from AA has a grove cut in it around one end, does it matter which way this thing goes in?
and whats the groove for?

Are you talking the bearing that goes on the shaft that's supplied? I'm trying to remember I did this, this winter.

I think the groove is for expansion and contration. If it is the bearing that goes in the aluminum housing on the shaft that is supplied then the groove goes towards the outside. But I'm sure it doesn't matter the bearing spins the same either way.
