I've got a shop about 100 ft from my office. I'm headed there tomorrow and was hoping you guys could give me an idea of what to expect. Otherwise i'll have to shop around for something i've never had done--don't know what would be a "good" price.

thanks

Jeff

I had my entire frame blasted for $125. So for just your seat frame, I wouldn't pay more than $20. Heck, if you were in my neck of the woods, I would use my little blaster and do it for free if you bought the sand. ;D

I have a spped blaster I bought for about $50.00. It is one of the best tools I've ever purchased. Since it's gravity fed the material flows out really well. I've done my tailgate with it, along with all the hardware. It is a messy job. but priceless once you get used to it. Even though a sandblast company could do a rear seat under two minutes, they are going to charge you at least $40. Put the extra $10 towards a speed blaster and you'll find 101 things to use it for later.

I use the siphon fed blaster from 'Husky' @ Home Depot. I've been pleased with it, but I don't really have anything to compare it to. Definitely only for smaller jobs.

If you make good friends with the shop they might give you a freebie, as it would only take them 5mins to do, but then again some shops are so busy they might not even want to do it... doesn't hurt to ask!

$15 bucks was the damage. that's free enough for me.

as long as i don't go pick it up and hear "well it was pretty weak, so you'll need to weld it back together in a few spots" :)

Nice. I didn't figure they would charge much. Alot of times, they will collect a bunch of small jobs and let them sit for a bit. Then, they will take them all out at once and blast everything.

$15 was a great deal!! The guy I use gets pissed when he sees the small stuff. That's why I bought the speed blaster. I spelled it right this time ;D .

didn't turn out too bad...for very little $$$

you can see some lines on the upright cushion that look like spray paint. I have no idea where those came from because there's no way i spray that evenly. very weird. I have the armrests too.. was going to throw them out by the fiancee won't allow it. they are warped by the sun pretty bad, but i think i can glue them back to the metal support, paint, and bolt them on.
