Any one have feedback on the drake stainless steel quick removal door hinges besides the over pricing? How's the functionality?

I just installed a set a few months ago. They are of good quality, solid. Once the door are properly aligned the doors slide on/off with ease and close nicely. Go for it, can't go wrong with them.

they work well, are well made and look great IMO

if you want cheaper, 1 or more vendors sell mild steel ones - rather than polished stainless

there's also a tech article (or at least some posts) on making your own from stock hinges

Knowing the history of this product it's always interesting to see the "over priced" comment. When these were Made in the USA we charged $400 a set and sold quite a few. We thought things were going great when we got them down under $300.
I'm just saying;D

First, I have them, they are nice and they work well and are the best lift off hinges on the market.

Second, as to cost, they have come down in recent years, because if I remember right, they started out in the $450 range per set. You have to remember that they have all the up front costs of building the castings, producing them, finishing them and so forth. Stainless also isn't cheap to manufacture with either. Long story short, unless they mass produced say 2-5k sets of these right off the bat and were able to sell them, they would have to invest quite a bit up front to make it worth while to produce them. Really, that are reasonably priced for the product that you are getting.

I have a set. They work great. Lining them up was no where near as hard as lining up stack hinges. I had one door on the first try and it lifts off super easy. The other one I had to spend a few extra minutes. I think I had both set of hinges mounted and working in less than 30 minutes. That includes removing the doors and old hinges. I'm kind of a cheap a$$ too but there are some things that are just worth the extra $$$.
